I love your hammocks and I have a small anecdote if your interested. My job involves camping in remote regions of BC's central coast for months at a time. Did you know that in BC's temperate rain forests, banana slugs, can comprise up to 70% of total animal biomass and be nearly 30 cm in length! Before I switched to a hammock, I slept in a tent and let me tell you, those guys got in everything, even sealed totes. They are incorrigible. The bane of my existence camping in the forest. Once they invade, your tent, your pack, whatever - you can't move them, as soon as you touch them, they start to slime, huge globs of the stuff and nothing (not soap, water, isopropyl alcohol, a good scrub with sand) will remove it. You just have to learn to live with them - that was until I switched to a hennessy hammock. I switched because I was over sleeping on uneven forest ground (my sleep much improved, thank you!) but an unintended miracle was; no more slugs! The scoundrels clearly couldn't be bothered to climb up a (leafless) tree trunk and across the line, so thank you for a slug free summer!
