How to Choose a Hammock
There are three main considerations when choosing a camping hammock:

- the entry system you will use,
- the weight range you need the hammock to support, and
- how and where you will be using the hammock.
Entry System
Decide between a side entry with a zipper or a bottom entry with velcro. The classic bottom entry offers a lot of reliability and makes getting in-and-out quick and easy, while the zipper entry makes it easier to set up bedding and gives you the option to open the top of the hammock.
Size
Select a size that suits your height and weight, keeping in mind that a larger hammock can be more comfortable, but usually weighs more.
Features
Think about the features you need, such as how lightweight or insulated the hammock is. We have four main designs:
- Rugged Hammocks: These hammocks come in a wide variety of sizes with all the features Hennessy Hammocks are famous for at an affordable price. They utilize tough materials to make a sturdy, reliable hammock.
- Ultralight Hammocks: By substituting lightweight fabrics such as silnylon and spectra ropes we are able to reduce the weight of these hammock models. These hammocks are ideal for weight conscious campers that are trail hiking, biking, or any activity where minimizing space and weight is a priority.
- Jungle Hammocks: The Jungle models are almost identical to their Rugged counterparts but with one important difference, the double layered hammock bottom. Two layers of fabric on the bottom will provide total mosquito protection from bites through the hammock bottom. In addition the two layers of fabric make a pocket where a Bubble Pad can be attached. The Bubble Pad will keep the chill off your back in cool environments.
- 4Season Hammocks: The 4Season models are also double layered and come with a pad pre-installed and will keep the chill off down to about freezing. More insulation can be added to the pocket on the bottom of the hammock as needed in sub-freezing temperatures.
